Lexi 5: Extraterres-Tickle Exasperation! is just out from MTJ Publishing!  In this one Lexi and Lydia tangle with a saucerful of alien chicks bent on world conquest–through tickle-torture!  Darkjak did a super-groovy job on the artwork–but doesn’t she always?  Tentacle fans will find this one particularly enjoyable, as Lexi is ear-marked for “marriage” to a planet-ruling alien squid-thingy!  And like Mr. Carroll said, if you don’t know what a planet-ruling alien squid-thingy is, just look at the picture.

One of the most iconic images in tickle fetishism is the semi-anthropomorphic plant that uses ambulatory vines (tipped with feathery leaves) to bind and tickle its helpless victims.  Start digging through any large collection of tickle-toons and stories and you’ll uncover examples by the potload.  Heck, even my own characters Lexi & Lydia have tangled with tickling vegetation, though as we see above it was purely their own fault.  Or at least Lexi’s…

How do we account for the fascination of foot-tickling vegetation?  I have a feeling there’s a deep kinship with the image of the “tentacle monster” with a similar ticklish agenda.  THAT goes all the way back to old Japanese prints of frisky geisha-abusing octopi and thence to contemporary “hentai” anime porn.  But I doubt it’s the whole story.  I’d have to do some research, but I’m fairly sure images of tickle-plants outnumber images of tickling-by-tentacle in our fetish.  And we’ve seen a number of tickling plants in mainstream cartoons - they featured in episodes of the 80s cartoons Pandamonium and Ewoks Adventures, and more recently in Cartoon Network’s Chowder.   No question about it, those toons did a lot to (ha ha) “plant” the image in ticklers’ minds. 

But just as you can ultimately trace the ten-tickle monsters back to the “floating world” prints of Old Tokyo, there’s a legend behind the tickle-plants that’s worth our attention as tickleologists.  This is the “man-eating tree of Madagascar,” one of those bits of pop-pulp detritus that has swirled around in our collective unconscience for so long it evokes a vague twitch of recognition in most people, even as they draw a complete blank on anything beyond that.  It sounds like something from a pulp magazine of the 30s–maybe Seabury Quinn on a bad day–but in fact, it’s much older.  And the original story actually contains a sentence that’s very interesting…

The "Ya-Te-Veo" Plant from J.W. Bunuel's FROM LAND AND SEA...a Real-Life Tickle-Monster??

In 1881, someone claiming to be a German explorer named “Carl Lich” published an article in the South Australian Register that gave an account of a human sacrifice he had witnessed in the wilds of Madagascar.  A young maiden of the “Mkodo Tribe” was fed to a strange, tentacled tree.  The account of the ensuing “sacrifice” ranks with the very best bad writing the pulpsters ever committed to paper, but I want you to read this bit very carefully:

“”The slender delicate palpi, with the fury of starved serpents, quivered a moment over her head, then as if instinct with demoniac intelligence fastened upon her in sudden coils round and round her neck and arms; then while her awful screams and yet more awful laughter rose wildly to be instantly strangled down again into a gurgling moan…”

Italics mine, needless to say.  I’m sure the good Herr Lich meant “awful laughter” to be a sign that the girl’s terror had tipped her over the edge of madness, but you gotta wonder exactly what else those “slender delicate palpi” might have been getting up to.  Maybe a few of them slipped between her slender, tender toes?  Maybe the tip of one worked its way into her helpless, oh-so-deep navel, or vulnerable armpits?  Were some of the vines tipped with feather-brush like bunches of frilled leaves that were scrubbed across her tummy and naked soles?  Were her last moments moments not merely of terror but helpless, ticklish laughter? 

True, by 1955, that old sourpuss Willy Ley had established in one of his (admittedly fascinating) books of popular science that there never was a Mkodo tribe, and “Carl Lich” was simply a pseudonym of some Victorian journalist of slightly sub-sterling integrity.  In other words, the whole thing was a just a good (if lurid) story. 

But as long as there are ticklers, good old Carl’s fantasy will still hold potent sway…so next time you’re cracking open a cold one, take a sec to raise it in his memory…along with maybe a couple sticks of Miracle Gro.

A search for “ponygirls” gets about 200,000 hits. 

A search for “foot fetish’ gets about 7,710,000. 

Now, not all of those will lead to substantial websites, of course.  A lot of them will just take you to someone’s blog where they make passing reference to a specific fetish as being unnatural and disgusting.  Some are just generic porn sites that make reference to fetishes for the express purpose of getting more Google hits to lure traffic their way.

Still, anyway you slice it, that’s a LOT of hits.  A lot of human interest in stuff that not too many years ago would have been enough to get you locked up in the puzzle factory. 

Not all of Gigglegasm’s readers are in the US and not all of them who are choose to celebrate Independence Day.  But if you’re chowing down on watermelon and hot dogs and burning your fingers off with those damned sparkler-thingies, take a moment to remember that “freedom” means a whole hell of a lot of different things, not all of which are on the official program.  Stuff that’s not on the official program is often at risk of being left in the dust.  The right to be turned on a pretty pair of feet or by a tickling story (or one about ponygirls) CAN be taken from you.  So can your simple human ability to ENJOY being turned on by those things. 

Be proud of your desires.  Be strong in your pride.  Don’t falter.

Out today is LAUGH FOR ME, a tickling/bondage short-story out as an ebook from Excessica Publishing.  This is a bit of a departure for me, a story with plenty of sexy, sadistic tickling action but with a romantic tone.

One day Nikki woke up to find herself in a strange prison, a place called Hades, where the female prisoners were at the mercy of their guards and a strange, shadowy group of men and women called the Directors. But Nikki was determined to make her bid for freedom, and soon she had joined with a gang of wild girls living in the tunnels beneath the jail. But her story had only just begun.

An initiation scheme goes awry and Nikki finds herself an unwilling betrayer; the chaos that follows seems to offer a new hope of escape, but all too soon Nikki and her ally find themselves stripped down and helpless, laughing in agony as they are tickled for the amusement of their captors.

The artwork for HADES 2 is done and looks fantastic.  It should be out in another month or so, along a new nylon-themed novella, AGONY IN SILK, and LAUGH FOR ME, an SM/tickling-themed story from Excessica Publishing. 

The dialogue for TAMMI 5 is all written and I’ll probably begin finalizing the script sometime next month.  And just last nite I talked with Jim about a couple of very exciting new comic projects…and I’ve got some plans in the fictional realm that’ll take me in some very interesting new directions, if all goes well.  All in all, some exciting stuff is in the cards!  Watch this space for more details!

This latest comic offering from MTJ Publishing is a real keeper, folks.  It marks the return of a character all too seldom-seen, even back in the day.  Fiery-haired Sonya is a secret agent with a serious weakness–a ticklish upper body with an “outie” to die for!  Bandito and White Lotus have done an amazing job with the Oz’s character…and as a bonus, Oz himself makes a return with a short but delicious story Sonya story of his own!  Beautiful stuff, don’t miss it!

I’ve been WAAAAY behind in my posts, folks.  I’ve been getting a lot of freelancing work done and trying to get a few more fetish fiction projects out of the way.  I’m making good progress on a nylon-themed F/F tickling novella for MTJ.  The artwork for HADES 2 should be done soon and I’m mulling over a few femdom/fetish projects for A1AdultEbooks and a few other publishers.  Watch this space for more details!
